Set up the job

Add a plan accepts a photo or scan, an SVG plan, a plan JSON or a saved job file. Walls can also be drawn by hand.

Read a hand sketch turns a photo of a sketch into walls and rooms. Draw in dark pen, black if possible, on plain paper or a sticky note. Straight lines, clear room names and written measurements read best. Write measurements upright. Photograph it square on and close, with no shadow across it. The paper's corners are shown on the photo to line up before it is read. JPEG or PNG, not HEIC. Quick reads the sketch once. Careful then checks the plan against the sketch, Thorough checks it twice. Each pass is charged as a separate run.

Turn the plan

North points Show the north arrow on the sheet

Turning the plan turns north with it, so wall names stay right. The scan, the symbols and the measurements all move together.

Crop the plan

Full plan shown.

Drag a box over the area to keep. The box fills the drawing area and symbols, lines and text scale with it. Nothing outside the box shows or prints. Measurements stay true. Turning the plan turns the crop with it.

No scale set. Only needed for measurements.

Show lengths in

Pick two points on a known length, then type what it measures. Drag either end of the purple line to adjust.

While you draw

Every switch at 1300, every GPO at 400. Sets a whole group at once instead of one symbol at a time. Heights show on the wall elevations, not on the plan.

No rooms yet. Load a plan or draw walls.

A room is whatever the walls close in. Its grey box and its name follow the walls when they move. Tap a name on the sheet to change it. Add a room by hand for a deck or anywhere with no walls around it. Join wall ends pulls loose corners onto one point.

Finish the drawing

No walls yet. Load a plan or draw walls to turn elevations on.

Photo pages

Add photo pages to the PDF

Photo pages go on the end of the PDF, after any elevations. Each marker starts its own page. Photos on no marker stay off the PDF.

Photos are shrunk to 1600px on the way in and held in the job. The full size file off the phone is not kept.

The logo across the top of every sheet belongs to the business, not to this device. Everyone in it gets the same one.

None takes the notes panel off the sheet.

Add a materials page

Every symbol counted by the room it stands in, then a whole job total. PDF only.

PDF is the one to send. The image is for dropping into a report or a text message.

A job file holds the plan, the symbols, the scale and the title block. Save one to reopen the job later or to hand it to someone else.

Cloud

A job saved to the cloud opens on any device with the passcode. Needs the tool on its web address, not a page opened off the disk.

Start over

Clear symbols leaves the plan, the scale and the title block alone. New job wipes the lot and starts empty.
